Building Clinically Translatable Medical AI For The Future

Medical Imaging AI Summit HKU 2026
Date: Sat 16th May 2026
Time: 9:00 - 17:00
Venue: CBA, G/F, Chow Yei Ching Building, Main Campus, The University of Hong Kong.
Welcome to the 3rd Medical Imaging AI Summit, hosted by the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Hong Kong.
This year's summit enters new territory. As AI transitions from decision-support tool to autonomous agent, radiology stands at an inflection point — one that will redefine how images are acquired, interpreted, and acted upon. Our theme, Agentic Radiology, explores what it means when AI doesn't just assist the radiologist, but reasons, plans, and executes across the full clinical workflow.
The programme spans four interconnected frontiers: the methodological advances powering next-generation medical image generation and foundation models; the rise of agentic AI systems capable of multi-modal reasoning in radiology and beyond; clinical translation across specialties from breast and cardiac imaging to pathology and dentistry; and the critical imperative of building AI that is explainable, reliable, and trustworthy in real-world practice.
Join leading clinicians, researchers, and technologists from across the globe — including speakers from HKU, CUHK, Duke Kunshan, A*STAR Singapore, ShanghaiTech, and beyond — as we examine the science, the ethics, and the clinical reality of this shift.
